Who Uses AVL?
Transportation real-time fleet management. Emergency vehicles: Law enforcement, fire, and paramedic. Utilities: locating nearest available vehicle to respond to a service. Long-haul truckers. Delivery services: Courier, newspapers, and fast food where prompt customer service is critical.

Public transportation: buses, vans. Commercial sanitation. Towing and snowplows. Commercial carriers, TL and LTL. Military and logistics. Forestry, oil and gas exploration.

                
Like TerraTrak AVL system, TerraTrak+ is a complete out-of-the-box solution: hardware, software and maps, ready to track.  TerraTrak+ adds 2-way messaging or e-mail to TerraTrak.  A driver can compose a text message using the a handheld Pocket PC anywhere.  As soon as the Pocket PC is replaced in its cradle, the message will be sent.  Similarly, messages will be received when the Pocket PC resides in its cradle.  User built Web pages can be preprogrammed with all expected driver responses, so a driver can "point and click" instead of typing. One user delivers work orders to their drivers.  Dispatcher can send dynamic changes to work assignments, routing information (turn-by-turn directions) and other information using either forms or free-form text. Drivers can communicate with dispatch center by filling out forms instead of free-form text on their Pocket PC thus reducing the need for cell phones, radios, or pagers.
